Gone For Too.........Long! Sorry.

Hi everyone,

Well it is time I get back to my blog. I am trying to learn how to balance everything with this business and it is a struggle. I think though with a lot of work I will get there.
I wanted to show you a card using something that goes through your big shot with no problem. It also adds a nice texture to your stamped project. It is supper thin cork. I picked it up in a hobby store. I truly love the colors with this.
I used the Halloween Hoot stamp set, and the Cast a Spell DSP. The card stock color is Elegant Eggplant. I have to say it was fun stamping on another texture.

Happy Stamping

I am Soooooooo...... Happy!

Yeah! My blog is working again! What happened was when I added the Stampin' Up! YouTube video channel it messed up my blog so I had to take that off until I figure out how to add it with out any issues like that.

My Dad is doing as well as can be expected. He is under going radiation at this time so I still am away a lot but was home for this weekend and decided to work hard on my blog for awhile.

I did a K.I.S.S. today! However I left both my cameras in Tucson at my parents house....go figure. So the picture isn't the best but it has to work.
This card is just whisper white
The colors are Melon Mambo and Rich రాజ్జ్లేబెర్రి
The stamp set is Wow Flowers
I also used the Word Window Punch and the New Modern Label పంచ్
Again I am sorry about the quality of the photo

Snakes!

Hi everyone,

Hope you are all enjoying your week. This has been a good week up until today. I live in an area that has snakes. This is the 4th snake in two weeks. I HATE THEM! I don't care if they are good snakes or not! I HATE THEM!

I went to let my dogs out around 12:00 and herd what sounded like water running out in by the lambs. Well next to the lambs we have another pen for our border collie. She was going crazy, barking. So I ran out there and sure enough it was a rattle snake! (My crazy husband has been trying to catch one this year to snake break the dogs.) First I let Diamond out of the pen, then I called a friend to come get it because my husband is away at school. He did manage to get the snake in a bucket. YEAH!(really being sarcastic!)

I did take pictures though which is unusual for me. I only take picture of them when they are dead! But this one I followed so they could catch it. I must be losing my mind!

The snake did inspire me to make a card(Go Figure!) out of a faux snake skin technique I learned awhile ago. It is not difficult and very interesting to touch and look at. These pictures do not do the card justice. It looks so much more real in person.
I will be starting a Technique class in June. I have already talked about it with some of my customers.
Here is the date: June 27th
Time: 1:00 - 3:00
Cost: $10.00
Remember if this is not good for you and really are interested in the class e-mail me or give me a call and we can always set something else up. I think in honor of the snake this will be one of the first techniques we will learn! It will be so much fun.

K.I.S.S. (Keep It Simple Sunday)

Hi everyone,

I hope everyone out there had a wonderful weekend. I did. Saturday night my daughter and I went and watched a movie in the park. Our wonderful city in the summer has movies in the park! It is so much fun to get together with your friends and enjoy a wonderful evening. It isn't even so much about the movie, there is just something about being with good friends and running into people you haven't seen in awhile and catching up with them. Then you get to enjoy a free movie! Last night they showed Goonies.

I want to try something new. I want to try to post a simple card every Sunday with little to no layers, not many embellishments, and something that is good for beginners to the more experienced stampers.

For this card:
Cardstock: Pink Pirouette, Ridinghood Red
Ink: Regal Rose, Ridinghood Red
Stamps: Garden Whimsy
Acsessories: Regal Rose Ribbon, Eyelet Punch

Tomorrow is Mojo Monday so don't forget to check back for another sketch challenge!

It's Friday!

Hi everyone,

I hope you all have had a great week. I know I am so glad it is Friday and for once we don't have a busy weekend away from home! I am excited about(yes I know I am strange) doing some yard work!

I have been busy working on wedding invatations. As soon as the bride chooses the one she wants I will post it. But right now they are a work in progress.

I have also been working on some "Thank You Cards" as well.
This card was fun to do. I absolutely love the "Sweet Slumber" DSP.

Here is how I made this card:

1. The base of the card is a single piece of card stock cut at 51/2" x 41/4"

2. Cut a piece of DSP 2" x 51/2", A piece of matching card stock at 11/2" x 51/2" and scallop the edge, cut a piece of coordinating ribbon about 61/4".

Put those pieces together and tape the piece of DSP around the edges with the red sticky tape. Adhere to the 51/2" x 41/4" piece at the bottom, making sure to leave top open to form a pocket.

3. Cut a coordinating piece of card stock to fit the top note die with the Big Shot. Cut it in half. Then cut another coordinating piece of cardstock at 31/4" x 4". Decorate as you please. ( I used Whisper White craft ink, and the dots are from a retired stamp set "Three for You")

On the Top Note I stamped the saying with the "Define Your Life" (gratitude) stamp. Adhere those together to make a card to slide in the pocket.

4. I used the "Petal Pizazz" set for the flowers. I used a circle fire brad as the center. I used a "Stampin' Dimensional" under it.

The ink colors I used were: Baja Blue, So Saffron, Kiwi Kiss, and (Whisper White craft ink) and Black

Cardstock colors: Riding Hood Red, Baja Blue, So Saffron

DSP: Sweet Slumber.

Ribbon: Baja Breeze, stripped grosgrain ribbon

Accessories: Circle Fire Brads, and Clip Assortment, Big Shot, Top Note Die, Spiral Punch, Stampin' Dimensional, Red Sticky Tape

Two Scrapbooking Pages

Hi everyone,

Today I am feeling a little better. Thank goodness! I thought since it is National Scrapbooking month I would show a couple scrap booking pages. Scrapbooking is such a wonderful way to preserve your memories.

The first page I did, used the circle cutter. It sure is hard coming up with a manly page! I sure love using flowers and ribbons. But I think I did OK. I truly love all the circles. I used the DSP Sweet Slumber. Also I used a gray corduroy button.

The next page I made a few weeks ago. I love the Petal Pizzaz stamp set. I had fun using my big shot with the Swirls Scribbles sizzlit. The DSP I used in this one was Raspberry Tart.

The last two years sure have been a struggle for my parents. But praise the lord things are getting better. But it sure has brought me a lot closer to them. I have grown to know them in a way I never thought I could. You will probably see a lot of scrapbooking pages in the future featuring them.

Mojo Monday contest, week #85

Hi everyone! I am feeling a little under the weather today. My oldest has strep and this morning I woke up with a sore throat and a little achy! Oh well just like her we will get over it so we just move along. (It sure does slow you down though.)

I don't know If I have told you the age of my kids, they are 26, 21, and 19. They still all live at home which I love having them here. I can't imagine what life would be with out them here. My 21 year old son is getting married in August! I am so excited! So in the future expect wedding invitations here. I will start playing with different styles soon.

Well It is Mojo Monday. The ladies over at http://mojomonday.blogspot.com/ come up with a different sketch every Monday. This week they are also doing a contest. They have some awesome prizes as well. You too can play along! They details are on their blog.

I had a lot of fun putting this card together using this sketch. The minute I saw the sketch I new exactly what paper I was going to use. I used a wonderful, and beautiful DSP. It is called Bella Bleu. It is on Page 161, of the Idea Book and Catalog. I have a lot of it because I used it to make my son's engagement announcements with it. I hope you enjoy the card.

New Blog!

Hi and Welcome. I am so excited to have started a blog. I have wanted to for so long but have been really nervous about it. I have looked at so many and you all are so great out there in blog land. I only hope that mine will be half as good.
I am a Stampin' Up demo. and have been for over three years now. I love it! I work for the greatest company!
I recently had the opportunity to go to the Albuquerque Regional with my up line Shannon Bradly and a Stampin' Up friend from Tucson, Sherry Lee. We had a great time! I learned so much. You demonstraitors are amazing in what you come up with. My up line and I are going to convention for our first time and we both are so excited! I am counting down the days.
For my very first post I wanted to share a card I recently did. I can not stop using this set. Cheep Talk. It is my favorite.
Recipe:

card stock: elegant eggplant, always artichoke, and whisper white.

ink: elegant eggplant

accessories: white, elegant eggplant, and always artichoke grosgrain ribbon, chocolate chip, and always artichoke stampin' write markers, I also use the big shot and the scallop oval frame.
